A Taste for Travel

Rumour has it that John Lloyd Taylor of the Jonas Brothers is camped at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Judging from the crowds of girls camped out on the corners along Front Street and the buzz on Twitter it could be true. After all, this Chateau-style landmark building in the city’s downtown core has played host to royalty, dignitaries and countless celebrities during its 80 year history.   

Plus, the group packed the Rogers Centre with 56,000 screaming fans on Sunday night. That’s the second-most concert tickets sold in Toronto this year, behind U2 (estimated 58,000 to 60,000 for its September dates) and ahead of Coldplay (45,000).

If you stop by and don’t spot one of the Jonas Brothers, you can console yourself with a “buzz” of a different type. As part of The Fairmont Royal York’s ‘TIFF and the City’ Package for Film Festival Folks: From September 10 to 19th, you can sample a signture cocktail ” The Buzz”made with honey from the hotel’s own rooftop beehives.
